Parent Association

The purpose of the Charlotte Prep PA is to promote parent awareness, interest, and participation in the life of the school, supporting our mission and strengthening the educational experience our children receive. We engage parents, support children, and recognize the value of faculty and staff, while fostering a sense of community. The PA enhances the cultural and curriculum goals of the School by providing opportunities to support the school and its programs, and exchanges ideas and information among the parents, faculty, administration, and trustees.

The PA Board works closely with the Head of School, Director of Marketing and Communications, and Board of Trustees to ensure PA activities and communications are aligned with and support the mission, values, and core values of the School. All parents are members of the PA and are welcome to participate to the best of their ability, as time permits.

The Charlotte Prep Parents Association Executive Board consists of the President, Vice-President-Communications, Secretary, Treasurer, event coordinators, and division liaisons. The officers, committee chairpersons, and class representatives are listed here and in the school directory. For information on how to become involved, contact our Development Office or our PA President, Marcie Jacobs.

A kickoff to the school year that the whole family will enjoy! Meet new and veteran Charlotte Prep families in a carnival atmosphere with rides, games, and prizes. Volunteers are needed for the day of the event to set up, take tickets, run games, man the popular “Teacher Time Auction”, coordinate the traditional “Cake Walk”, and event clean up.

The PA welcomes back the faculty and staff with a catered brunch on their first day back to Charlotte Prep.

We traditionally partner in the fall with a bookstore off-campus. In the spring, the book fair is held on campus in conjunction with Grandparents’ Day. These events help foster a lifelong love of books and reading, enrich classroom libraries, and raise funds for the School.

One or two parent volunteers promote, collect, and send in Box Tops to raise additional funds for the School.

Each spring, the committee coordinates a week-long celebration of our faculty and staff. Committee members collect gift cards to be distributed at a brunch or luncheon during that week.

Past dance themes have included: a masquerade ball, a sock hop, Alice in Wonderland, and last year's rodeo roundup. Committee members select a theme, organize music, refreshments, and photographer for the event. Volunteers are needed for planning, set up, and work the event.

A lovely Charlotte Prep tradition! Volunteers organize food donations and help serve at the Grandparents’ Tea. Volunteers also help decorate the campus for this day-long event filled with special performances honoring our grandparents.

This is a crowd-pleasing event for mothers and sons. The committee secures a location, arranges for food, and distributes invitations.

Before the holidays, the chair of this event schedules a week where parents shop and Charlotte Prep receives a percentage of sales.

This is the School’s only adult event. An elegant evening out with friends for good food, entertainment, and bidding wars! The Social Committee will select a location, arrange for catering, entertainment, and decorations; as well as create and distribute themed invitations. The Donation Committee will solicit, organize, and catalog donations of all auction items. In recent years, proceeds have benefited our STEM, Fine Arts programs, and updated campus signage.
