Alumni News

Welcome, Alumni and Past Parents! One of our goals is to provide you and your family opportunities to stay connected to Charlotte Prep. We invite you to remain a part of the Charlotte Prep community; our campus is always open, and you are always welcome.

Stay connected! We make a continued effort to collect new information about all Charlotte Prep alumni including address, email information, current career roles, travel experiences, and any information you feel would be interesting for the Charlotte Prep community to be aware of.

If you have a submission for our annual report or weekly news, please email us. We want to hear from you!

Below are highlights from 2015-2016:

  • Charlotte Prep welcomed John Crum (Class of 2009), honor scholar and graduate of McCallie School and rising senior at Washington and Lee University, back to campus as our keynote speaker for the graduation ceremony for the Class of 2016. John delivered an inspiring speech to our young graduates.
  • Last fall, we welcomed students from the Class of 2015 back for our alumni panel to chat with the 8th Grade class about what to expect in high school. Our panel of high school freshmen always offer a great perspective, and this is a valuable component of the high school placement process at Charlotte Prep.
  • The Charlotte Prep Alumni Games returned this past year, with high school students in 9th-12th grades hitting the courts for basketball and volleyball. There was much fanfare as former students filled the campus with their fond memories, nostalgic stories, and excitement to be back where so many began their educational journey and spent their “growing up” years!
  • Congratulations to the Charlotte Prep Class of 2016, over 95% of the graduating class is attending their first choice for high school. Click here to see the list of destinations.
  • Families of the Class of 2016 generously presented their class gift of music with an outdoor sound system. Expressing the importance of music with their parting gift:  “Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and charm and gaiety to life and to everything.” - Plato
  • Congratulations to the Charlotte Prep Class of 2012 who recently graduated from high school and are off to college in the fall! Click here to see where some of the graduates are attending.

alumni quotes

Charlotte Prep is a wonderful place my family and I will always carry close to our hearts. Our two sons have solid educational as well as personal foundations because of their time at Prep. I am a huge supporter of the K-8 model because children are able to be themselves and are not "lost" in the classroom. We just went back for the alumni basketball game, and it was like going home- priceless! Seeing familiar teachers and staff was heartwarming and felt like a homecoming. Plain and simple, we love Charlotte Prep!
~ Claire E., Alumni Parent

My favorite Charlotte Prep memories are playing sports. While I was here I played four sports: tennis, soccer, basketball, and baseball. I have learned about life here and I will never forget that.
