A note from Robert Frost, President of the Board of Trustees

My wife and I fell in love with Charlotte Prep on our first school visit. We could see our children would be safe and nurtured here.

The intimate school community is contrasted by the large, bright classroom spaces. The teachers are warm and caring. Parents dedicated to a common cause of a strong and well-rounded education for their children form a welcoming social network—one that ten years later is still the foundation of our social life. Yes, our children were both Charlotte Prep lifers. Over our ten years at Prep, life went on. Teachers, staff, and families left; new teachers, staff, and families joined our community, but through it all, the OnePrep culture endured. When presented with the opportunity to join the Board of Trustees and help Charlotte Prep transition to the next phase of its story, I eagerly accepted.

Whether they move on to a local independent school, a public school, or a boarding program, Charlotte Prep graduates are confident, well-rounded, prepared to thrive, and highly sought after. In addition to rigorous academics, our students are immersed in arts and music, engage in inclusive and nurturing athletics, and participate in character development and leadership programs. With 3rd Graders mentoring TK students in the BUDEE program, 5th Graders experimenting with team sports, Middle School students engaging in community service, and 8th Graders learning about leadership in weekly sessions with our Head of School, Charlotte Prep students set an example for each other on becoming empathetic teammates, engaged citizens, and exemplary leaders. Our students thrive in one of the most diverse independent schools in North Carolina. They learn to understand, seek out, and celebrate different perspectives.

I invite you to explore our work and our OnePrep community. Please reach out to us, and we will gladly help you find a path to contribute to the service of this wonderful school.

Sincerely,
Robert L. Frost
